Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—Thanks to his will, commitment and consistency, Mohammad Turi was able to present the most beautiful gift to his extended family on his graduation day. Yes, he was named the best graduate with a GPA of 4.00 at UNESA's 109th Graduation event on Thursday, February 1 2023.
The man who is familiarly called Turi told of his struggle to graduate quickly in 1.4 years with achievements the best master's program (S-2) in the Sports Education study program, Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK).
He is the son of a well-off family. Moreover, since the age of three months he was abandoned by his parents and grew up under the care of his grandmother. The mediocre economic conditions meant that he had to struggle to be able to go to college, from bachelor's to master's degrees.
In order to make ends meet during college, Turi was forced to divide his time studying, studying and looking for income by actively participating in regional sporting events until national.
“During my studies, I was also invited by lecturers to work on research and provide community service. "From there I can also learn and gain experience," he explained.
Even though there are many activities, Turi doesn't give up easily. In fact, he uses his limited time to deepen his studies and study program knowledge. "Sometimes I feel very tired, but "It can't be helped, there are dreams that I have to achieve," he said.
The man who wrote a thesis on "Development of an Aerobic Endurance Training Model for Junior High School Students" has dozens of research works and publications indexed by Sinta and Scopus.
Apart from being encouraged by his dreams, the success of his study journey cannot be separated from the encouragement of his friends and lecturers on campus. The man who was born in Sampang admitted that he was inspired by a number of FIKK lecturers and professors.
"There are lots of lecturers or professors who inspire me on campus, from them I get a lot of insight and an injection of motivation that makes me have to continue learning and achieve the highest goals," said Turi.
All of Turi's struggles and work paid off with various proud achievements both when he earned a bachelor's and master's degree. In fact, on the day of his graduation, Turi was offered a PhD scholarship at UNESA and at the same time he was preparing for a scholarship to study abroad.
"Being able to get to this point is actually due to hard work, commitment, consistency, discipline, thinking. "Go forward and focus on yourself. That's the secret version of my struggle. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me all this time," he concluded.[]
