Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA–Dharma Wanita Pertama (DWP) Surabaya State University (UNESA) celebrated its 24th Anniversary at the G6 Building Auditorium, 3rd Floor, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Campus 1 Ketintang, on Friday, 22 December 2023.
This activity which also commemorates Mother's Day (22 December) with the theme "The Strategic Role of Women in Sustainable Development" was initiated by DWP Sub-unit LPSP and DWP Sub-unit FEB which was attended by around 100 participants UNESA member.
Hj. Endah Purnomowati Nurhasan, M.Pd., Chair of the UNESA DWP in her speech said that the role of the DWP to support and contribute in various fields ranging from education, economics, to socio-cultural needs to be improved.
This, she continued, is not Apart from the aim of the UNESA DWP itself, namely to support higher education programs, including collaborating with village governments (PKK), orphanages or Islamic boarding schools by providing various skills, health and education training to the community.
"Each Our meeting agenda is to hold training or seminars to develop members' potential. "We hope that the members will be able to provide the knowledge they have gained to be implemented in the local community," he said.
Lini Anisfatus Sholihah, S.Gz., M.Sc., a nutritionist who was a resource person in this activity, delivered his material about 'Balanced Nutrition for Families'. According to him, understanding the concept of education in the family environment, such as children's food needs, needs to be taken into account.
The nutritionist who is also a lecturer said that food that is healthy and good for the body is food that is nutritious, varied, balanced, and safe (B2SA). Don't forget how to process it, you also need to pay attention to maintain the nutritional integrity of it.
“For some people this may sound trivial, but this is important to realize, because women hold great power in the growth and development of the nation's generations,” he said.
Yuni Anang Kristyanto, chief executive, said that DWP is here as a pioneer to fight for women's rights and their participation is important in realizing more advanced and better development.
The take on this theme, he continued, The background is because a woman as a wife, mother, must be able to position herself regarding her role in accompanying her husband at work or educating children so that they are able to provide support for existing progress.
In this activity there is also a fruit and vegetable arranging competition which is intended to accommodate the skills of members, as well as being intended as a reflection of food with good nutrition. There is also providing compensation to orphans which has become one of the DWP UNESA traditions in each agenda. []
