"This is our first outreach. Next, we will provide education about diseases commonly experienced by the community such as eyes, heart and breathing. Because we specialize in sports, we also provide education about the importance of exercise for health," he explained.
Head of the Education Department of the Al-Furqon Foundation, Dr. H. Abdul Mu'id, S.Ag., M.Pd.I., said that it is hoped that the counseling carried out will provide provisions for children to understand healthy lifestyle and social patterns.
"Young people or teenagers need to be equipped with an understanding of health. We thank UNESA for providing this education. We and UNESA have had a close relationship for quite a long time and we hope this will continue," he said.
Factors and Prevention
Doctor Nieke Andina Wijaya, M.Biomed., Sp.KK., provides an introduction to what skin diseases are and what the factors are the trigger. One of the skin diseases that people often experience is fungal infections. In the medical world, this infection, known as tinea corporis or cruris, usually occurs in areas with fine hair.
The Medical Professional Education Coordinator, FK UNESA, added that usually, the infection, which is familiarly known as ringworm, occurs due to wearing tight clothing, warm and humid conditions, as well as crowded housing.
This infection is also easily transmitted through clothing, towels, or even direct contact with animals infected with the fungus. "The easiest way to avoid fungal infections is to keep yourself and your environment clean, such as diligently bathing and cleaning your room. Especially if the children at a boarding school like this live together," concluded the lecturer who is also a member of Perdoski. [*]
