SURABAYA—Academic and expert on geospatial data-based education policy at Surabaya State University (UNESA), Bambang Sigit Widodo is a panelist in the third debate of the 2024 East Java Governor Election (Pilgub Jatim) which will take place tonight, Monday, November 18 2024 at Grand City Surabaya.
The East Java KPU Commissioner, Nur Salam said that the theme of this debate was "Accelerating Infrastructure Development, Regional Interconnection and Improving the Quality of the Environment to Realize East Java as the Economic Epicenter of the Eastern Region of Indonesia".
This theme is divided into eight sub-themes, namely Transportation and Telecommunications Infrastructure, Settlement Infrastructure, Clean Drinking Water, and Waste as well as Electricity and Renewable Energy Infrastructure.
Furthermore about Equal Inter-Regional Connectivity, Regional Planning and Integrated Spatial Planning, Climate Change, Mining and Ecological Commitments and Monitoring and Enforcement of Environmental Law.
In the debate, the party involved seven panelists who are experts in each field, related to the theme or sub-theme being discussed. One of the panelists was from UNESA.

Bambang Sigit Widodo, lecturer and lecturer UNESA Deputy Chancellor III for Research, Innovation, Rankings, Publications and Science Center expressed his thanks and appreciation for the trust given by the East Java KPU to participate in making the final debate a success.
"This is an honor as well as scientific recognition for academics from a number of campuses, including UNESA, for making this simultaneous democratic party a success. We hope that the East Java gubernatorial election will be successful, both in terms of implementation and participation," he said.
For information, the three candidate pairs who are debating are candidate pair number 1, Luluk Nur Hamidah-Lukmanul Khakim, candidate pair number 2, Khofifah Indar Parawansa- Emil Elestianto Dardak and candidate pair number 3, Tri Rismaharini-Zahrul Azhar Asumta (Gus Hans).
The panelists are as follows; (1) Bambang Sigit Widodo, UNESA geospatial data-based educational policy expert. (2) Abdul Chalik, expert on local politics and Islamic politics at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya.
Next, (3) Bayu Dwi Anggono, constitutional law expert, Legislative Sciences, University of Jember. (4) Andi Kurniawan, expert in eco-aquatic technology/exploration of aquatic resources and environments, Brawijaya University. (5) Suko Widodo, media and public communications expert at Airlangga University.
Next, (6) Zainul Aripin, academic at STIKES Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang. And, (7) Yuventia Prisca Diyanti Todalani Kalumbang, expert in critical philosophy and public communication, State University of Malang. [UNESA PR]
