Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya-The Faculty of Economics and Business, State University of Surabaya (FEB UNESA) opened a new study program this year. The study program in question is Digital Business which is starting to open registration for new student candidates on the independent track or SPMB UNESA until July 13, 2021. Hujjatullah Fazlurrahman, SE., MBA, FEB UNESA lecturer said that the Digital Business study program is a combination of Management, Informatics Engineering and Information Systems study programs. He added that of course the presence of the new study program was based on the needs in the field and in the community.
According to him, externally, entrepreneurs who can survive the current era are those who can adapt to the times. One form of adaptation is ready to transform from a conventional business system to a digital system. “Businesses or businesses that can survive are those that can take advantage of digital devices or digital-based businesses. Otherwise, they are prone to erosion and cannot compete,” he said.
In the future, the profiles of graduates projected through the new study program are young entrepreneurs who are skilled in digital business and digital business management analysis. The goal is that when you graduate and work for a particular company, you can be an inspiration, bring innovation and provide solutions. In addition, it is also expected to be able to develop digital businesses based on existing data and programs.
This goal is part of the 'free learning and independent campus' (MBKM) program which is realized through an internship program. The plan, the internship program for students of the new study program, is at a digital startup. Then there are many practical courses such as application development and other digital-based programs.
Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs UNESA Prof. Dr. Bambang Yulianto, M.Pd said that the UNESA Digital Business study program was the first study program in an East Java state university. The study program also has a course that distinguishes it from other study programs on campuses in Indonesia, namely the Digital Business Ethics course (1 and 2). This is in line with the vision of entrepreneurship with business ethics.
He added that through this study program, UNESA wants to create students who have a mindset as digital users, have the ability to manage digital-based businesses, and are able to read opportunities, trends, and shifts in digital business in the field and in the future. Therefore, the teaching staff of the study program is prepared with competent human resources. In its composition, some of the lecturers are Unesa academics who are truly experts in their fields and some are supported by five percent of lecturers from practitioners who have poor experience across the digital business world.
He hopes that the new study program will be able to contribute to boosting Indonesia's economic growth and progress in the future. “Hopefully the graduates will be able to become key players and determine the economic progress and welfare of the Indonesian people, becoming graduates who are able to compete on a national and international scale.
