Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA–Visitors of the Royal Plaza Surabaya were treated to a festival entitled "Kibou No Fukutoku" organized by Communication Science (Ikom) students class of 2021, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH), Surabaya State University (UNESA ) at the 2nd Floor Atrium of the Royal Plaza on Saturday, December 2 2023.
This typical Japanese flower festival was attended by more than 300 audience members and 54 competition participants. There are several competitions being held, namely Coswalk, J-Song, and Anime Movie Video (AMV) which are open to the public.
Imelda Prasasti, MICE team manager said that the event was part of the assignment for the Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition or MICE.
The assessment is carried out by the lecturer by looking at several aspects such as ideas, concepts, background, choice of venue, agenda, participant enthusiasm, media partners and supporting sponsorship.
With this event, he and his team gained a lot of experience organizing events which included elements of training students' hard skills and soft skills.
“Despite facing many difficulties, we managed to hold this event successfully and attract vendors. "Moreover, the participants are not only from East Java but also some from Bandung," he said.
The course lecturer, Vinda Maya Setianingrum, S.Sos., M.A., appreciated the event. According to him, this activity provides students with experience in organizing activities.
By studying MICE, students will be increasingly trained in their abilities in lobbying, coordination, communication, cooperation, creativity, marketing and so on.
"The hope is that from this course, when students graduate you can join with event organizers, management which is about events, then tourism and so on. "They already have experience and just need to develop it," he said.[]
