Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—D-4 Fashion Design Student, Vocational Faculty, State University of Surabaya ( UNESA) class of 2020 held the "2nd Annual Fashion Show off Vocational Fashion Design 2024" entitled 'RECIPROCAL' at the Oval Atrium of Ciputra World Mall Surabaya on Saturday, March 9 2024.
This activity, which was attended by the Vocational leadership ranks, involved 25 students, with a total of fifty fashion works decorated with typical Asian motifs. This luxury is packaged by 6 groups, each of which is divided into two big themes, namely Symbiotic and Borderless.
Symbiotic is a theme that has a lot of discourse and freedom in creativity. Each skilled work polished from this theme creates a bolder impression with authentic colors.

Various Patterns and types of materials can be applied, from smooth and soft, to stiff and sturdy materials. The arty off beat style of this theme is mixed and matched with multi styles.
Meanwhile, Borderless is a theme that clearly describes a combination without limitations of time and place, as well as getting to know each other and sharing. The motifs of this theme combine east and west styles which are characteristic of Asian culture, then combined with a variety of colors in a harmonious and brighter way.

The Coordinator of the D-4 Fashion Design Study Program who also acts as a supervisor in this activity, Dr. Irma Russanti, S.Pd., M.Ds., said, this event is a combination of style, culture and aesthetics that become one.
Apart from that, the activity was appreciated by the Director of Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Muhamad Sholeh, M.Pd., this is also important to do as a form of appreciation for students who have struggled to complete their best fashion work.

"Hopefully with this fashion show, students can increase their enthusiasm. "Then after graduating, I hope they can immediately be accepted and join the fashion industry," said Irma Susanti.
The chief executive of Reciprocal, Laylisa Salsabillah, said that the word "Fusion" was taken as a bigger theme that encompasses Symbiotic and Borderless.
According to him, fusion means that we have accepted all the information and trends that exist today, while there are some people who choose not to follow this at face value.

They united into a strong group , then process it into a newer concept. "I hope that the juniors will be able to work better than we are now," he explained.
Interestingly, this activity was also attended by designers from neighboring countries, consisting of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris Malaysia. Both of them enlivened this event by showcasing contemporary Malaysian fashion designs. (*)
