Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA–Surabaya State University (UNESA) recorded a new milestone with the acceptance of the Suara Hukum Journal from the Faculty of Law (FH) as a journal Scopus indexed. This success made the Suara Hukum Journal the first journal of the 'Home of Champions' campus to be included in Scopus.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law (FH) UNESA, Arinto Nugroho, expressed his happiness and pride for this achievement, which was not only a The pride of FH alone, but also of UNESA as a whole.
According to him, this success reflects the results of hard work and the right strategy from the team. Even though other journals at UNESA had already tried to submit to Scopus, Suara Hukum Journal was the first to be accepted into this index, which according to Arinto is something to be grateful for.
The journey of Suara Hukum Journal to Scopus was not easy. Starting from its position as a Sinta 3 accredited journal, the journal team faced the challenge of improving quality and meeting strict requirements. "Considering that the re-accreditation procedure is also not easy, we decided to target Scopus at the same time," he said.
The strategy taken includes a focus on the quality of writing and content, diversity of authors, and relevance of published topics. On December 27, the journal team received a request for approval for the setting process in Scopus to obtain a quartile.
As a prominent journal in its field, Jurnal Suara Hukum has characteristics that differentiate it from other journals. The main focus is on empirical and normative legal research, especially contemporary legal issues.
"There are several accepted topics including private law, constitutional law, human rights law, international law, and consumer law with a focus specifically on Indonesian issues," said the law lecturer.
"We want to be a forum for the publication of relevant and in-depth legal research. "The diversity of this topic is one of the added values of Suara Hukum Journal, so it is worthy of being indexed by Scopus," he added.
After being accepted by Scopus, he and the team are committed to maintaining the quality of the journal so that it remains in line with international standards. The main focus of the journal team is to ensure that the publication theme, review process and author diversity are maintained. Apart from that, it will also increase the level of selectivity of accepted manuscripts.
It is hoped that this achievement will ignite enthusiasm for the UNESA community. “This indexation is proof of international recognition of the quality of research and publications at UNESA. We hope this motivates researchers and academics to compete to improve quality and submit Scopus publications. "In this way, the UNESA research ecosystem is getting stronger," concluded Arinto.[*]
