Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-One of the goals of vocational high schools is to produce graduates who are competent and ready to be used in the world of work. For this reason, the learning and learning process uses the project method a lot. In order to improve the competence of SMK students, the UNESA lecturer team provided training on the use of a Trainer-Kit installation of project-based audio systems to students at SMKN 3 Bondowoso.
The training, which is part of a series of community service programs, will be held in stages from April to October 2021. Dr. Edy Sulistiyo, M.Pd, the head of the activity, stated that the program starts from planning, field studies, preparation of materials and modules to be prepared from April to July 2021. Meanwhile, special training will be held in August 2021 at SMKN 3 Bondowoso. Then, in November, his party provided regular assistance.
He continued, the training was packaged in the form of delivering material from the trainer team, the aim was to provide an overview and knowledge about trainer kits as well as how to use them and procedures in learning, especially in the installation of audio systems. Then the activity continued with the practice which was directly guided by the trainers.
According to him, the trainer kit is a series of learning media consisting of teaching aids and practicum modules that are used to support practicum activities. In other words, it can also be interpreted as a set of laboratory equipment used as a means of practice. "The teaching aids that support practice in SMK are very important because they can have an impact on the competence of the students," he said.
Through the training, the aim is to improve the quality of learning and learning as well as student practice with the latest device or display system. In learning the installation of an audio-video system, it cannot be based on theory, but requires practice and is supported by qualified teaching aids. In addition, the aim is to train and improve the competence of SMK students in Bondowoso Regency.
The Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty of Engineering, UNESA, said that the target to be achieved in the training was the technical ability of students specifically both in planning and installing audio systems, consisting of aspects of knowledge, work principles, work procedures, methods, processes and techniques. "Beyond that, of course also building a synergy between UNESA and partner vocational schools in improving the quality of education in the regions, including Bondowoso," he said.

Pd., Subuh Isnur Haryudo, ST, MT., Setya Cendra Wibawa, S.Pd., M.T., and Yeni Anistyasari, S.Pd., M. Kom.
