Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-Learning tools are one of the factors that determine the effectiveness of the learning process or not. In order to improve the ability of teachers in preparing learning tools, the UNESA Faculty of Engineering lecturer team provided training on the preparation of project base learning (PJBL) learning tools and employability skills assessments for teachers at SMKN 3 Bondowoso on November 4-5, 2021.
Dr. Edy Sulistiyo, M.Pd as the head of the implementing team stated that the purpose of this training was to improve teachers' understanding of the project base learning (PJBL) learning model and employability skills, especially in the preparation of lesson plans. It is important to do this, considering that the teacher's task in the future will be more challenging. Teachers must prepare students who have 21st century competencies consisting of good character, competence, literacy, higher order thinking skills (HOTS) and 4C; critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication.
He added, one model that is qualified for this purpose is PJBL. This model is very suitable to stimulate the creativity and innovation of students. His critical power was honed through the completion of projects plus the challenges of solving problems and solutions. "The essence of the PJBL is that we invite them to think about making works based on the needs in the field, then that work is the solution," he explained.
In carrying out their role as educators, teachers cannot be arbitrary, let alone carry out learning without preparation and tools. Besides being misguided, learning has the potential to have no goals and targets. "Learning tools serve as a guide for teachers when teaching, what material, what method, what media is appropriate and the objectives and characteristics of the material," said Edi.
In conducting the training, he was not alone, but there was also Prof. Dr. H. Supari, M., M.Pd., Dr. Joko, M.T., M.Pd., and Arief Widodo, S.T., M.Sc. Edy Sulistiyo said, before the training, his party first developed the PJBL module and 21st century assessment. While Prof. Supari was involved in the preparation of the lesson plans, and Dr Joko took part in the preparation of the 21st century assessment. In addition, Arief Widodo., ST., M.Sc contributed to the implementation of learning, and Sugiono contributed to data processing.
Edy hopes that through this training the teachers can improve their skills and understand more in project-based learning. "Hopefully what we provide is useful both for teachers and for students in the future," he said. "This training looks simple, but it is the key in improving the ability of teachers and the effectiveness of learning in schools," he added. [UNESA PR]
