Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA -The Surabaya State University football team, UNESA FC played a friendly match with the Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya (Unipa) team at the UNESA Football Field, Lidah Wetan, Surabaya on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. In that match, the UNESA team scored a goal against the Unipa team with three goals without reply.
Deputy Chancellor for Planning and Cooperation UNESA, Dr. Sujarwanto, M.Pd., who also participated in the match said that UNESA regularly held charity matches and friendly matches with several football teams from various institutions inside and outside the city. "Even to Surakarta. Some time ago we played away against the UNS football team. Here (Unesa field, ed) we also often play with Indonesian football legends," he said.

According to Sujarwanto, regularly competing can maintain the fitness of the lecturers, staff, and employees who are members of UNESA FC. In addition, this activity is a momentum to strengthen the relationship. "Through football, we also socialize and introduce to the public that UNESA has advantages in sports other than education, arts and culture as well as disability," he explained.
Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty of Sports Science, UNESA, Dr. Dwi Cahyo Kartiko, S.Pd., M.Kes., who also took part in the friendly competition, said that UNESA had plans to open a new study program, namely the Undergraduate Soccer Study Program. "This is still in the study stage, later after that it will only enter the establishment preparation stage. Hopefully it will run smoothly and be realized as expected," he explained.
He added that UNESA had entered into a cooperation agreement with the supreme parent of Indonesian football, the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) to improve the quality of the comprehensive sport of soccer through the opening of the Football study program. "Together with PSSI, we are focusing on maturing human resources who are an important element in football, namely coaches, referees, to the medical team," said Cahyo. (UNESA)
