Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya–Unesa Career Center (UCC) held a webinar for further studies with the title "Consolidating Self-Development Through Advanced Study with LPDP" on Thursday (22/07/2021). The resource persons presented at this webinar are Ir. Dwi Larso., M.SIE., Ph.D., as Director of LPDP Scholarship and Putra Alif Ramadhani Yamin, S.T., M.Sc., LPDP alumni and lecturer at ITB.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni Dr. Agus Hariyanto, M.Kes., said that the activity is planned to be carried out regularly. In addition, UCC will also hold other programs to encourage students and alumni to continue their studies. "I hope that participants can continue their studies to a higher level both at home and abroad," he said.
Further studies can be at your own expense or you can take advantage of various scholarships provided by the government or the private sector. One of the scholarships from the government is the LPDP scholarship. Dwi Larso said that the LPDP scholarship is a scholarship program from the Indonesian government through the use of the National Education Development Fund (DPPN) and is managed by LPDP to finance further studies (Master or Doctoral) at the best universities at home and abroad.
He added that the role of LPDP is to develop the nation's economy through education. In addition, LPDP must also create and multiply educated people who can open up new job opportunities for the community. In addition to full founded scholarships for masters and doctoral degrees, LPDP has also opened a new Co-founding program in collaboration with many state-owned enterprises and other countries such as Germany and China. "Like in 2020, there were 21 students who studied lithium batteries in China and then returned to Indonesia and developed battery product manufacturing," he explained.
On that occasion, Putra Alif Ramdhani Yamin, S.T., M.Sc., explained his success tips in obtaining an LPDP scholarship at the University of Nottingham, UK. Putra (as he is familiarly called) explained that to get an LPDP requires careful preparation and preparation. Scholarship enthusiasts, he added, also need to understand and fulfill the requirements set by the LPDP. "What are the conditions, yes, we fulfill all of them, and it's good to prepare well in advance," he said.
He continued, knowing your own strengths and measuring the abilities of other applicants can also be an added value for applicants. "Make sure the university we want is on the list of campuses funded by LPDP and based on my experience getting the LoA is the longest and most difficult requirement to obtain," he said. (Nov)
