Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA�Dharma Women's Association (DWP) Surabaya State University (UNESA) held a Ladies Program involving mothers or wives of higher education leaders of the Indonesian Chancellor's Forum (FRI) on Monday, January 15 2024.
This program is packaged in the form of exploring several MSMEs in Sidoarjo. One of the visits was the Purnomo Shop in Kludan Village, Tanggulangin District, Sidoarjo, which was the first destination. This shop with the Valiant Leather trademark sells various leather crafts such as bags, wallets, lanyards and jackets.

"All the items here are genuine from cowhide and homemade. All the work is done by hand," said Ardi is one of the designers at this shop which has been around for more than 20 years.
Next, he moved on to one of the Sari Kenongo Batik production sites located in Sarirogo Village, Sidoarjo. Production, which started in 1997, is now continuing with its second generation, Lintang.
There, participants can see firsthand the process of making batik, from drawing patterns using a pencil to the waxing process and the process of selling finished products such as tunics, robes and shirts.

On the occasion, Lintang said that his production site was lucky because the printing machine it currently has was a gift from UNESA. With this tool, they can make printed batik according to buyers' requests and increase their income.
It didn't stop there, DWP continued to the MSME center in Sidoarjo. Various MSME food products are there, including Bluder typical of the Shono region, aloe vera drinks, fish crackers, various chili preparations, and so on.
Hj. Endah Purnomowati Nurhasan, M.Pd., Chair of the UNESA DWP, said that this Ladies Program event was intended for the wives of rectors or leaders who took part in FRI. "We visited MSMEs with the aim of motivating MSME players and helping promote local Sidoarjo products," he said.[]
