Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-As many as 29 students majoring in Japanese Language and Literature, State University of Surabaya (UNESA) took part in a one-year internship program at Tokyo International Airport or Haneda Airport, Japan. They will depart on February 7, 2023, but the release ceremony will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 in the Meeting Room, Floor 09, Rectorate, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya.
The Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) Syafi'ul Anam, M.Pd., Ph.D expressed his pride for the selected students. According to him, being able to go to gain knowledge and experience in Japan requires struggle and careful preparation. There is also a series of strict selection.
“Hone soft skills, practice Japanese language skills there. It is more effective and long lasting. Build a good work culture, give a positive impact. I'm sure, when we make a positive impact, the Japanese people will follow the habits of us Indonesians," he said
He hopes that students who are selected to do internships in Japan can raise the good name of UNESA's alma mater and can become agents of change for UNESA and Indonesia. "Continue to communicate with lecturers, if there are problems, let us immediately provide the best solution," said the newly appointed dean.

Deputy Chancellor for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Prof. Dr. Madlazim, M.Si added that the opportunity to go to Japan would not be repeated a second time. For this reason, he emphasized to students to really make the best use of this opportunity.
“You are UNESA ambassadors and Indonesian ambassadors. Introduce Indonesian culture, introduce UNESA with polite and courteous language and attitude. Dig up as much knowledge, experience and positive values from there that can be an important provision when you return to UNESA," he said motivating.
One of the apprentice participants, Salman, a 6th semester student, said he was happy to be selected as a student who could do an internship in Japan. He will intern at Haneda Airport for a span of one year.
“If there, the main SOP must have above average Japanese. So, the communication is smooth and if you do an internship, the problems can be resolved immediately and there's no confusion," said Salman.
He hopes that when he returns to Indonesia he will apply the experience from there, including to support his plans to set up a business and create jobs.
The release ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chancellor for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni, FBS leadership, Director of Student and Alumni Affairs Dr. Muhammad Sholeh, M.Pd, Director of Arts and Culture Dr. Trisakti, M.Sn, Head of Japanese Language Education Study Program, Didik Nurhadi, Ph.D and a number of lecturers.
