Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–The success of Surabaya State University (UNESA) in managing Labschool has become a reference for various universities, one of which is the Sunan Ampel State Islamic University (UINSA) which carried out benchmarking on Tuesday 30 January 2024.
The UINSA delegation led by Deputy Dean I for Academic and Institutional Affairs, Faculty of Tarbiyah, Prof. Dr. Husniyatus Salamah Zainiyati, M.Ag., was welcomed by the Director of UNESA Labschool, Prof. Dr. Sujarwanto, M.Pd., and his staff in the Meeting Room, Lidah Wetan Campus II Rectorate, Surabaya.
Prof. Husniyatus said, this visit was in order to dig up a lot of information related to labschool management, both in terms of legality, quality management and academic services. UNESA, he continued, is one of the universities that has a laboratory school that is increasingly developing.
He added, UINSA in the near future plans to establish a Kindergarten Play Class (KBTK) to respond to the high interest of the local community which is so tall. "Currently, UINSA already has a Daycare managed by Dharma Wanita. "The plan is that the Daycare, which has been running for 13 years, can be developed into a KBTK Labschool," he said.
Prof Sujarwanto explained that UNESA Labschool has a long history so it can develop to what it is now. There have been various breakthroughs made, one of which is improving governance and developing the quality of education through sister schools, so that labschool is not just a laboratory school, but also becomes a center of education for the nation's generation.
“Improving quality is accompanied by internationalization and school branding. "The UNESA Labschool has a total of 1,921 students from KB/TK, Elementary, Middle School, High School and Vocational School levels spread across two campus areas, Lidah Wetan and Ketintang," explained the professor of special education management, Faculty of Science (FIP). p>
Furthermore, regarding its establishment, it must be in accordance with the government's regulatory corridors. Sujarwanto explained that in good labschool management, it can be seen from the perspective of the legal standing or legitimacy of the school, academic services which include the recruitment of teachers and staff, teacher welfare, and students can develop their potential through superior school programs.[]
