Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA - The 804th Student Regiment (Menwa) UNESA held a ceremony for the departure of its members who took part in the 74th Diklatsar (Basic Education and Training) and the 37th Suskalak (Implementing Cadre Course) on Friday, February 4, 2022 at the UNESA Rectorate Courtyard, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya.
The departure ceremony was attended by Dr. Agus Hariyanto, M.Kes., Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni. He stated, students should learn a lot and develop themselves through positive activities.
He added that the position of the organization cannot be underestimated, including Menwa. Organizations can be a place to develop knowledge and strengthen skills acquired in the classroom. Then what is obtained in the classroom can be implemented in the organizational space.
"Students who study well, are strong in their studies and actively develop themselves in the classroom and in organizations will produce achievements, both academic and non-academic," he said.
The man who likes sports advised Menwa members to participate in these activities as well as possible and give their best in every session and opportunity. "Raise the UNESA alma mater at the venue, show your best and keep the good name of the institution," he ordered.
He hoped that the Menwa members who attended the training would bring home the ideal student spirit and character, namely students who always fill their time with positive learning and activities, are more disciplined, study harder and are more enthusiastic about working for the community and nation.
Commander of Menwa 804 UNESA, Vandi Akhmad Royyan explained that the DIKLATSAR and SUSKALAK were held for 3 weeks, from 5-24 February 2022 at Dodikjur Rindam V Brawijaya, Jalan Mayjen M. Wiyono, 01, Polehan, Kec. Blimbing, Malang.
The activity was attended by participants from East Java Menwa. Participants from UNESA were followed by 10 members of the 2021 class for Diklatsar and 3 members of the old batch for Suskalak. "For Diklatsar it is for new members, while Suskalak is for old members who are steeped in competence in the education and training of Menwa," he said.
Reza Dwi Ramadhan, Deputy Head of Operational Affairs, explained that at the training location, participants will receive a series of educational and training materials and practices including, briefing on basic military material, providing material for state defense and national insight, basic fighting techniques and survival practices.
The objectives are; first, forming a person who has discipline, responsibility, physical ability and knowledge to be able to carry out the duties and functions of the Menwa in accordance with the Panca Darma Satya of the Indonesian Student Regiment.
Second, carry out knowledge development of Menwa members in universities. Third, improve the ability and understanding of Menwa members in the field of state defense. Fourth, hone the skills of Menwa members to be better at unit and university assignments. Fifth, being able to carry out the duties and obligations as a member of the Menwa in the university environment.
