Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA - Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) continue to strive to improve the quality of education. One of them is by seeking international accreditation as a guarantee of the quality of higher education with international standards.
Therefore, a number of preparations were prepared, such as an outcome based education (OBE) curriculum, tracer alumni and stakeholders, internationalization activities, teaching and learning facilities and others for 2 years. Now, the non-education study program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) received a second visitation from the ASIIN Team on Wednesday (24/3).
"ASIIN accreditation is also a step to achieve UNESA's millestone to become an international university at least in Southeast Asia and improve the quality of study programs by advancing international quality in the fields of professional human resources, education, teaching, research and scientific publications," said Dra. Widowati Budijastuti, M.Sc.
It is not an easy step, the implementation of this international accreditation must go through various stages, such as making self-evaluation reports for study programs and faculties, sending files, accreditation visitations to accreditation sessions. In addition, the registration stage has also been carefully prepared by the accreditation team, starting from finding the appropriate international accreditation agency, sending curriculum and study program profiles, establishing clusters and entering into contract agreements.
"All these stages have been carried out well until finally the study program can be said to be eligible for international accreditation from the organizers," he said.
Previously, the FMIPA education study program had also received ASIIN international accreditation which lasted until 2026. Currently, UNESA has received international accreditation as the 8th Main Performance Indicator target of 16 study programs. In the future, 3 study programs at the Faculty of Sports Science, 4 study programs at the Graduate School and 4 study programs at the Faculty of Education will also soon receive international accreditation.
