Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (UNESA)'s commitment to preventing and eradicating the abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics (P4GN) was awarded by the National Narcotics Agency of East Java Province (BNNP Jatim).
The award was received by UNESA Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., at the peak of the International Anti-Drug Day (HANI) celebration held by the East Java BNNP at the Cak Durasim Building, Surabaya, Wednesday (26/6/2024).
Head of East Java BNNP Mohamad Aris Purnomo on that occasion expressed his thanks to all parties involved in joint efforts to implement P4GN in their respective institutions.
He hopes that this award is not only an appreciation, but also a motivation to continue to be enthusiastic in intensifying efforts to eradicate the spread of drugs.
"Eradicating the spread of drugs requires cooperation and commitment from all parties, that's why we collaborate with many institutions including UNESA. Our cooperation has long been good in outreach, routine urine tests, and so on," he said.
The Chancellor of UNESA, who is familiarly called Cak Hasan, expressed his gratitude for the award he received. "This award is for the entire academic community who have shown their commitment and awareness in preventing drug trafficking," he said.
For him, the award is an honor and a boost for the 'One Step Ahead' campus to jointly increase commitment in preventing drug trafficking.
"We hope for cooperation with BNNP East Java is getting stronger in various aspects. So far, we have synergized in various outreach and prevention activities. "Our students also do internships at BNNP as a form of synergy in the field of education," said Cak Hasan.
Apart from UNESA, East Java BNNP also gave awards to the Surabaya City Government, Sumenep Regency Government, Bina Insan Mandiri High School Nganjuk, SMPN 4 Mojokerto City , Hidayatul Ulum Islamic Boarding School Sumenep, Sidoarjo Anti-Drug Ambassadors Association, Menur Mental Hospital and Windarko anti-drug activists from Blitar.[UNESA PR TEAM]
