Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA - As an effort to prepare itself to become a state university with independent institutional governance, the State University of Surabaya is committed to immediately changing its status from a Public Service Agency State University (PTN-BLU) to a Legal Entity (PTN-BH).
Previously, all series of preparations had been carried out, starting from coordination meetings, visitations, field evaluations and clarification of proposed documents to periodic monitoring had been carried out. Until finally, on (23/3/2022), UNESA together with six ministries held a Plenary Meeting on the Harmonization of Draft Government Regulations on State Universities as Legal Entities, State University of Surabaya at Hotel Raya Kuningan, Jakarta.
The six ministries in question are the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK), the Ministry for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (KPAN RB), the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg), the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. (Kemendikbudristek) and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham).
Unesa Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes explained that this event was a momentum for UNESA to be more productive in the future, "As a Legal Entity University, it is hoped that UNESA can have the flexibility to create various innovations related to the development of education based on independent learning," he said.
At this event, revisions and discussions were also presented regarding the revision of the Draft Law that must be improved as a form of harmonization with Government Regulations that will be applied when UNESA holds the status as a PTN-BH.
A good welcome was also received by UNESA from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, who assessed that the steps prepared by UNESA were appropriate and the routine discussions that had been prepared and carried out so far were able to speed up the process of changing status. After this draft has been revised, the UNESA team will prepare 54 rector regulations as a form of implementation of the derivative of the Government Regulation Draft which is targeted to be completed in October.
