Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-UNESA continues to maximize the implementation of Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka, one of which is strengthening cooperation to bridge universities with the business and industrial world (DUDI). That is what the UNESA Planning and Cooperation Sector expressed through the FGD which was held at the 11th Floor Auditorium of the UNESA Rectorate Building Lidah Wetan, on Monday, November 22, 2021.
As speakers, UNESA presented three speakers, 2) Yayat Hendyana, SS, M.Sc., General Coordinator, Public Relations and Cooperation, Secretariat of the Directorate General of Higher Education, 2) Ali Nugraha, ST, MBA., Manager of Leadership Development and Business Capabilities PT Pindad and 3) Dr. Mas Purnomo Hadi, Acting Head of the East Java Cooperative and MSME Service. This event was also attended by a number of invited guests and leaders of institutions, faculties, study programs and environmental units of Unesa.
UNESA Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes said that the key to the success of MBKM is collaboration, innovation and adaptation. This can be realized through the implementation of cooperation. Therefore, it was held so that UNESA and DUDI could exchange opinions and strategies to develop educational curricula. "Hopefully, Unesa graduates are not only ready to contribute in the industrial world, but also can create jobs," he said.
The challenge in realizing cooperation between universities and DUDI is that there are still few higher education institutions that have just achieved A accreditation, so it is important to encourage cooperation with fellow universities and partners in the implementation of the Tridarma of Higher Education.
Yayat explained, the contribution that humans in higher education can make is to create science and technology that has an impact on economic strengthening, national progress and national development through five economic priorities, "Such as green economy, blue economy, digital economy, tourism and health independence," he explained.
In addition, he also encourages research and products from universities to become applied works. “So far, many research publications have only been published in seminars and journals. This should be completed by making patented products, so that they can have an impact on the community,” he explained. On this occasion, he appreciated UNESA for having 3,120 total documents of cooperation with various stakeholders.
Another problem was also expressed by Ali Nugraha, that unemployment is still a homework to be solved in welcoming the demographic bonus momentum. “The need of the industrial world in general is the ability of soft skills. Therefore, it is important to equip the younger generation with skills related to industry 4.0," he explained.
The capabilities in industry 4.0 include personal skills (communication, cooperation, professionalism), thinking skills (critical thinking, problem solving and decision making), digital skills (digital literacy, digital learning) and job specific skills (basic business, industrial knowledge and skills). technical skills).
The application of these skills can be carried out through an internship program, so that students can get experimental learning, social learning and formal learning. This is supported by Mas Purnomo, "Student friends during their internship should continue by making thesis research," he said.
He gave an example, when doing internships in cooperatives and SMEs, learn to practice business as well and then sharpen it by writing thesis research. So that after graduation, alumni can create quality products and create jobs. Furthermore, he also emphasized that the concept of productive students can also be formed by printing certified products.
Not only containing presentations and questions and answers from the three speakers, the event was then followed by a FGD with 15 speakers from various stakeholders. UNESA met directly with heads of institutions, faculties and heads of study programs around UNESA to support UNESA's partnership in the MBKM program. [UNESA PR]
