Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–The State University of Surabaya has had the status of a Public Service Agency State University (PTN BLU) for about 12 years. Currently, UNESA is preparing itself to become a Legal Entity State University (PTN BH). Preparation for the change in status from PTN BLU to PTN BH was presented on Friday, October 22, 2021 at the 11th Floor Auditorium of the UNESA Rectorate Building, Lidah Wetan Campus.
This activity was attended by the Chancellor of UNESA Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes and the ranks of the vice chancellors. In addition, there are also the ranks of the senate, the leadership of the vocational program, the deans and the ranks of the PTN BH UNESA team. In his speech, the Chancellor revealed that UNESA was included in the ranks of the four universities proposed by the Minister of Education and Culture as PTN BH. With all the existing preparations, he hopes that the path of UNESA to become a PTN BH will be given ease and smoothness.
On that occasion, Prof. Dr. H. Haris Supratno, M.Pd explained many things, including the achievements and performance of UNESA over the last few years. The presentation was carried out virtually with a team of assessors from the Directorate General of Higher Education consisting of various universities. “To give enthusiasm and motivation to the academic community, the Chancellor of UNESA made a motto; UNESA is one step ahead," he said.
In the next few years, UNESA has several plans such as programs or policies towards an entrepreneurship university, smart research university, autonomous smart university, hub–innovation university and smart academic industry. According to him, UNESA is ready to become a PTN BH in the near future. "Some improvements so that the end of this year can be completed, so that in early 2022, UNESA can officially become a PTN BH," he said. (Hasna/zam*)
