
Unesa Award
SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (UNESA) was named a 'Zero Accident Campus' and received an award from the Governor of East Java. The award was given by the East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) in commemoration of National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month on 12 January-12 February 2024.
The award is a form of the East Java Provincial Government's commitment to implementing the Decree of the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia Number 244 2023 concerning Guidelines for Implementing the 2024 National Occupational Safety and Health Month in East Java.
The Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa said that the awards given to a number of regions, companies and institutions in East Java including UNESA were as appreciation and motivation in implementing K3, so that we can continue to have zero accidents.
Also as an appreciation to institutions that have implemented the HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Program, and implemented an K3 management system in the workplace.
" "We would like to express our gratitude to all parties who have supported and played an active role in developing, promoting and cultivating K3 in their respective institutions," he said during the commemoration of National K3 Month in Mojokerto, on January 11 2024.
Director Prevention and Management of UNESA Strategic Issues, Dr. Mutimmatul Faidah, S.Ag., M.Ag., expressed his happiness at being able to receive this award. According to him, this is a form of commitment and the fruit of cooperation between the leadership of the university-faculty-study program and the entire 'Home of Champions' campus community.
"We certainly express our gratitude to the East Java Provincial Government for its appreciation and the UNESA leadership. "Of course this is more motivation for UNESA in improving the implementation of K3 policies or systems in the campus environment," he said.
He added that this achievement is proof of K3 performance so that it is recognized by the government. This achievement can help and support IKU, as well as provide security and comfort guarantees for the community in carrying out their duties on campus.
"UNESA has received this award twice, the first in 2023 and now in 2024. Commitment "In the future, we can improve the quality of the K3 management system and various achievements will continue to be maintained and even improved," he said.
As information stated in the award charter, UNESA received appreciation for its achievements in implementing the K3 program with status zero accidents in 9,415,835 working hours, starting from 1 November 2019 to 31 October 2023.[]
