Dozens of UKM (Student Activity Unit) stands around UNESA were invaded by new students.
Unesa. ac.id, SURABAYA—In facilitating new students in obtaining appropriate information regarding Student Activity Units (UKM), Surabaya State University (UNESA) is holding UKM Expo 2024. This activity will take place on 26-28 August 2024 and is in series with the Student Fair This was attended by more than 40 UKMs around UNESA.
The chief executive of UKM Expo 2024, Tri Andi Kurniawan, said that the theme this year was "Explore Your Passion, Discover Your Future". This theme reflects the spirit of encouraging new students to be more active in exploring their interests and talents through various Student Activity Units (UKM) available on campus.
"By participating in UKM, students can discover new fields that they can "is a means to develop oneself outside of lectures, as well as prepare for a brighter and more diverse future," he explained.
Andi emphasized that the UKM Expo is a golden opportunity for new students to get to know more closely the various choices of activities they can do. they follow throughout the study period. By being involved in UKM, students will not only gain valuable experience, but also form a strong social network, broaden their horizons, and hone skills that are relevant to their interests.
Director Mawal UNESA emphasizes that UKM is important for students, one of which can develop and strengthen students' interests and talents.
Muhamad Sholeh , Director of Student and Alumni Affairs (Mawal) UNESA, gave special appreciation to the head of UKM who had displayed various proud achievements through the UKM Expo. This event is an important opportunity for new students to learn more about the world of UKM at UNESA, as well as opening up opportunities to contribute and excel in their fields of interest.
He also reminded new students to ensure that they have registered and choose SMEs that suit their interests and talents. According to him, achievement and success begins with hard work, and being active in UKM is an important first step. "By being active in UKM, students will learn to communicate, organize and work together well, all of which are important assets for success," he said.
Feri Aldiansyah, representative of Population UKM, revealed that Population UKM has a role in supporting programs initiated by the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), including preventing early marriage. Through the activities and education carried out by UKM Population Affairs, students are invited to understand how important it is to plan family life.

Meanwhile, the Student Regiment UKM (Menwa) displaying a number of weapons equipment, one of which is an airsoft gun. Not only that, there was also an Archery UKM which showed off its playing equipment to the participants who enlivened the activity. The participants were also invited to try out the tools they had.
Attending the exhibition, Natasya Rameyza Elya, a new student from the PGSD undergraduate study program, said that this event really helped her in getting to know the various UKMs at UNESA. He also believes that this kind of exhibition should be held in a wider location, considering the number of booths and the enthusiasm of the participants involved in the activity. []
