Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—A total of 13 academics consisting of lecturers and staff at the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) have the opportunity to perform the Hajj this year.
Those who will depart on May 25 2024 were officially released by the UNESA leadership in the Rectorate Lobby, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, Surabaya, on Tuesday, May 21 2024.
According to representatives of the Hajj pilgrims departing this year, Prof. Dr. Budi Purwoko, S.Pd., M.Pd., this event is a momentum to ask for prayers and blessings from comrades in arms.
For him, prayers from the entire UNESA community are very meaningful so that in the future the prospective Hajj pilgrims can carry out the entire series of Hajj pilgrimages for 40 days smoothly and with blessings.
"UNESA has become part of us, earning a living, with that living we were chosen by Allah to be able to go on Hajj this year," said the lecturer who had Hajj list since 12 years ago.
Apart from that, there is a mauizatul hasanah from Prof. Dr. H. Muhammad Turhan Yani, M.A., who conveyed three things that prospective pilgrims need to pay attention to when carrying out their worship in the holy land.

First, Keep your conversation from bad things, including making fun. Second, don't lie. In religion, he continued, it has been explained that lying will have an impact on oneself and even be detrimental.
Third, there is endless arguing. Usually this often happens between husband and wife, or within their own group. He hopes that prospective pilgrims will be able to carry out the entire series of Hajj pilgrimages smoothly and their Hajj will be successful.
"The key is patience. Because the challenge is not only your own emotions, but also the weather and meeting many other people later ," he said.
Vice Chancellor II for Law, Management, Finance, Resources and Business, Dr. Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri, M.Pd., said that Hajj is not a physical worship, but also spiritual.
"A holy calling, not everyone gets this opportunity, Allah will enable those who He wishes," he said .
He hopes that prospective Hajj pilgrims will always maintain health and physical strength during the Hajj pilgrimage. It is necessary to prepare emotional stamina and patience.
He hopes that prospective Hajj pilgrims will carry out activities according to their abilities, without forcing them. "We also need to always maintain Indonesia's good name, be disciplined and tolerant with a sense of brotherhood," he said.
"Pray for UNESA, hopefully it can develop better and better according to the needs of the community, hopefully it will go smoothly, return home safely," he concluded.[]
