Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—The leadership of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) welcomed the visit of the leadership of the Sunan Gunung Djati State Islamic University (UIN SGD) Bandung in Meeting Room 801, Rectorate, Lidah Wetan Campus on Thursday, November 9 2023.
Chairman of the UIN SGD Consortium, Prof. Dr. H. Supiana M.Ag, explained that the purpose of his visit was for sharing and comparative studies in preparation for the implementation of scientific integration in developing the WMI (Wahyu Menandu Ilmu) Scientific Consortium.
"We feel it is important to collaborate with UNESA, in "in addition to strengthening ties and building potential networks between universities related to the integration and interconnection of science with religion and technology," he said.
He added, UNESA has a strong history in terms of science, starting from IKIP to becoming PTN-BH . This happened, he continued, of course through a strong scientific foundation and quality institutional governance.
“We see that UNESA, apart from developing extraordinary fields of knowledge, also has a thriving religious life. "We are trying to integrate religious values with science so that they are in harmony and synergy as UIN SGD's vision," he said.
With this meeting, it is hoped that UIN SGD and UNESA can collaborate to develop studies that are more scientific in the field of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. in the form of an agenda for organizational cooperation, seminars and conferences on science and religion between the Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN SGD and FMIPA UNESA.
Deputy Chancellor for Academic, Student and Alumni Affairs, UNESA, Prof. Dr. Madlazim, M.Si, on that occasion emphasized the importance of cross-university collaboration to create an academic atmosphere that encourages achievement and innovation.
The FMIPA professor welcomed the cooperation plans discussed at the meeting, especially cooperation academics related to science and religion. According to him, science and religion cannot be separated, both are important supports for human civilization.
LPPM Director Prof. Dr. H. Muhammad Turhan Yani, M.A., on that occasion provided a lot of reinforcement regarding the cooperation plans between the two parties. According to him, the spirit of scientific development on the 'Home of Champions' campus also breathes the paradigm of science and religion.
If you refer to the UNESA campus motto, namely 'Growing with Character', the spirit of science and religion is clearly visible in it. "Our goal is not only to produce graduates who are ready to work, but who have character, culture and noble morals. We strive to do this by strengthening the academic, community and spirituality-based ecosystem," he said.

Professor, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH), born in Jombang, welcomed the consortium initiated by UIN SGD Bandung. This could be a productive collaborative program to continue to develop science and religion as guides for the country's civilization towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.
Dean of FMIPA UNESA Prof. Dr. Wasis, M.Si., added, UNESA appreciates the studies of students from Islamic boarding school backgrounds in developing all science-based research that is correlated with religion.
This meeting was attended by Prof. UNESA.
