Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya-Universitas Negeri Surabaya continues to expand its international network through cooperation with state duar institutions and universities. The latest, Unesa signed a virtual Memorandum of Understanding with City University, Malaysia on Thursday (8/4/2021).
On that occasion, Rector of Unesa Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes said that he welcomed the cooperation of the two Unesa campuses. According to him, one of the strategies that must be pursued in the face of the industrial era 4.0 is to increase collaboration and give birth to many innovations.
Nurhasan added that for the cooperation plan, it has provided a special budget, can be allocated for cooperation in the field of education and research. "We are ready with this collaboration, both for the exchange of students, educational personnel and students between two institutions, hopefully it can be done quickly," he said.
Through the cooperation, nurhasan continued, the two parties can collaborate in the development or preparation of curriculum for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. "This cooperation will be followed up as soon as possible and hopefully the pandemic conditions will end soon so that unesa team can visit Malaysia to strengthen friendship,"
Meanwhile, Prof. Datok Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, Vice Chancellor of City University, Malaysia expressed pride in working with Unesa, one of the largest campuses in Indonesia.
He said that City University Malaysia currently has about 4,000 students and 1,000 international students from 38 countries in the world. In addition, with the advantages that the campus has such as education, business and management can be collaborated with the leading fields in Unesa. "I believe that the rich experience of an educational campus like Unesa can make this cooperation productive, superior and quality," he said.
In the meantime, the cooperation began in the field of education through the implementation of international webinars that can be held off Eid al-Fitr 2021. He hopes that the collaboration will also spread to other fields such as research and publication, as well as vocational programs.
"It is our great hope to be able to visit Unesa and strengthen the brotherhood of both parties," he said. "We are working together to continue to increase the level of international ranking and accreditation for Unesa and City University. One or two years insha Allah this cooperation can be seen the impact on our campus," he said optimistically.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Budiyanto, M.Pd, who was also present on the occasion said that some cooperation programs in the field of education, international webinars, guest lectures can be conditioned as quickly as possible. For programs that have an international network need to be encouraged again so that it has an impact on improving quality and quality.
"In special education as well, I hope it can be realized and in the next semester can start immediately," he hoped.
