Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya- The Chancellor of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA), Prof. Dr. Nurhasan., M.Kes., was a part of the Indonesian Chancellor's Forum Conference (FRI), the XXVII Campus Convention and the XXIII Annual Meeting, Tuesday (27/07/2021). The virtual event was attended and opened by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. H. Joko Widodo.
The event carried the theme 'MBKM and Strategic Collaboration in Order to Realize Innovative, Productive, Adaptive, and Competitive Higher Education in a Global World'. The main agenda is, first, the inauguration of the Rector of UGM, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng., IPU ASEAN Eng., as Chair of FRI 2021-2022 replacing Prof. Dr. Arif Satria S.P., M.Sc., IPB Chancellor who was entrusted with leading FRI 2020-2021.
Second, the election of the Chair of the FRI for the 2022-2023 period, which on that occasion Prof. Dr. Moh. Nasih, S.E., MT., AK., the elected Chancellor of Airlangga University. Meanwhile, for the third agenda, namely the Merdeka Learning webinar and the Merdeka Campus. Also present as speakers on the occasion were the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, BA, MBA, who discussed MKBM Implementation Strategies, Research and Innovation in Realizing Innovative, Productive, Adaptive, and Competitive Higher Education in the World Global.
In addition, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia, Erick Thohir, B.A., M.B.A., conveyed related to Industrial and Higher Education Collaboration in Accelerating Research, Development and Innovation in Order to Realize Technology Sovereignty. There was also the Minister of Investment/Head of the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Bahlil Lahdalia, S.E., M.Sc., explaining about Knowledge Based Investment: Encouraging Investment Literacy and Involvement of the World of Education in Encouraging Quality Investments That Lead to Prosperity. Furthermore, the Head of the Indonesian National Research and Innovation Agency, Dr. Laksana Tri Handoko, M.Sc., conveyed the National Strategy in the Field of Research and Innovation in the Framework of Realizing National Competitiveness and Community Welfare.
Prof. Nurhasan said that FRI is a forum for communication and a means of building synergy between university rectors in discussing various problems and providing the best solutions to problems faced by the Indonesian nation. "I always believe, together we can discuss problems and have many solutions," he said. "It is time for universities including UNESA to collaborate, establish synergy and foster productivity, creativity and innovation in each university in advancing society and the country," he concluded.
