Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA - A number of delegations from public and private universities as well as French and Indonesian institutions met in The 12th Joint Working Group (JWG) France-Indonesia in the fields of Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship which was held in Valenciennes, France, on 28-29 June 2022. UNESA which also involved in the world forum was appointed as the host or host for the upcoming JWG 2024.
The JWG program is a collaborative group in the education sector between the Indonesian government through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and the French government through the Ministry of National Education and Youth.
This program brings together higher education institutions of two countries to consolidate all aspects of ongoing cooperation and develop cooperation in various other fields. This year, the focus of discussion on cooperation is higher education, research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The team from UNESA that departed was the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Cooperation, Dr. Sujarwanto, M.Pd., and Head of the International Affairs Office (KUI) Asrori, M.Pd.
Sujarwanto said the cross-country university meeting discussed many things, including the exchange of the main themes of cooperation between Indonesia and France. The themes highlighted include; thematic workshops covering the fields of maritime, health, agriculture, food, energy, computer engineering, to social and tourism.
In addition, there were presentations of various research organizations of universities in two countries. Then speed-datings to build networks and projects for universities and research actors including two-state companies. "There is also an information session which includes funding, networking and innovation," said the man who is familiarly called Pak Jar.
Asrori added that the meeting also determined JWG's future plans. On that occasion, UNESA was appointed to host the Joint Working Group (JWG) of French and Indonesian Universities in 2024. "Yes, UNESA is the host. For us this is an honor and of course UNESA must prepare itself, cooperation concepts, innovations and so on for the success of the program and strengthening Indonesia-France cooperation," he said.
Information, in the 12th JWG 2022 conference, the delegation from Indonesia was attended by dozens of state and private universities including related institutions. This program is expected to strengthen the partnership between Indonesia and France, especially in improving the quality of higher education, research, innovation and publications in the two countries.
