Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya - The State University of Surabaya (Unesa) and the SEAMEO Regional Center for Technical Education Development (SEAMEO TED) made a mutual agreement. The form of the agreement was stated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Thursday, (02/09).
The signing was carried out virtually which was attended by Unesa Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., Dr. Sujarwanto, M.Pd., Vice Chancellor for Planning and Cooperation, and Drs. Martadi, M.Sn., Director of the Vocational Program and Dr. Songheang Ai Director of SEAMEO TED, Dr. Ith Vuthy Program Director, and staff from SEAMEO TED.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., explained that universities should not be limited in their internal routines but must cooperate with other parties. "Unesa has collaborated with various national and international universities to make a real contribution and have an impact on society," he said.
On that occasion, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., hopes for various kinds of cooperation that can be implemented together. "Today, with the signing of this MoU, Unesa hopes to expand its partnership with SEAMEO TED to advance joint research, publication, and community service in technical education," said the Unesa Chancellor.
SEAMEO TED in this case is represented by Dr. Songheang Ai, explained the six forms of cooperation carried out by SEAMEO TED. “First, collaborate in implementing regional training programs, academic and cultural activities for instructors, school directors, and students in applied science and vocational education. Second, cooperate in conducting research projects and regional publications. Third, work together in implementing regional community service programs. Fourth, collaborate in conducting workshops or conferences on the development of technical and vocational education. Fifth, cooperate in language teaching programs. Sixth, facilitating student and teacher engagement and development activities,” explained the Director of SEAMEO TED.
Songheang Ai also hopes that this form of cooperation can be realized well and be able to increase prosperity in the Southeast Asian region, "In accordance with Unesa's achievements in the fields of science, sports, and technology, I hope this cooperation can develop and increase to activities in the Southeast Asia region. for the sake of regional prosperity," hoped Songheang Ai.
