Unesa. AC ID. SURABAYA--There are many ways that can be done to revive theater arts in society, one of which can be through performing arts or presenting works as done by students who are members of the UNESA Institute Theater UKM in Jombang.
They held a work title with the theme "Sukma Survivors' Blinds" for two days, namely on Friday-Saturday, 9-10 August 2024 at the Jombang Arts Building (GSJ).
Production leader from the UKM Theater Institute UNESA, Hanna Diyaul Malufathi said, this work title aims to revive the art of theater in society, especially outside the city.
"This activity is also to show again to the outside world, that the Institute Theater can perform outside the city again, and set up performances independently. Apart from this, from this event we can also increase our relationships and make friends. "So we have more and more acquaintances and contacts," said Hanna.
UKM Theater Institute often holds performances outside the city, because according to him it can be an experience. "We want to hold performances not only at home (Surabaya). So we are always determined to hold performances outside the city. One of them is in Jombang, which is taking place for the fourth time," he said.
This work event involves participants from among students, including from UNESA, PGRI University. Adi Buana Surabaya (Unipa), and UNESA Labschool Middle School. Apart from that, there are five theater groups participating, such as Kertas Theater, Smagajo Theater, Socatirta Theater, Wadtera Theater, and there is also a combination of leaders in several theater groups.
The first day of theater featured acting performances from students and college students. Then, on the second day as the culmination of the event, there was an arts performance from the Institute Theater and other theater groups.[*]
