Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The Chancellor of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA), Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes received the Prapanca Award in the commemoration of the 2022 National Press Day at the East Java Province level by the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) East Java, Saturday (26/3/2022) at Lamongan Marine Tourism (WBL).
The award was given to Cak Hasan as an educational figure as well as a university leader who has an important role in the field of education and contributes to advancing sports in Indonesia. The award was handed over by the Head of the Central PWI Atal Sembiring Depari and the Chair of the East Java PWI Luthfil Hakim and witnessed by the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa at the location.
Of several figures and officials, Cak Hasan is the only one from a university to receive the award.
East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa on that occasion said the press is an important pillar in the existence of democracy in Indonesia. The role of the press cannot be separated from the long journey of the Indonesian nation. Including in the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, the press has become a massive means of socialization so that government programs run smoothly in an effort to reduce the number of cases in the country and in East Java in particular.
He hopes that the press will develop further and continue to collaborate in disseminating information that educates, awakens and moves people towards a developed Indonesia and a superior East Java.
“We need to maximize the role of the press through collaboration, so that there is a synchronization of what is written with what is found in the field. Hopefully the press will be more victorious and become an important part in building a better region and country," he hoped.
Chairman of the East Java PWI, Luthfi Hakim appreciated officials and figures who continued to encourage and provide space and were cooperative with the press. According to him, the press is on the one hand a 'partner' to the government and on the other hand it is an important part of society. The task is the same, namely advancing the community, nation and state.
"I invite the press, journalists and media to present information or news that is intellectual, quality, quality and solution-oriented," he said.
Meanwhile, Cak Hasan expressed his gratitude to the ranks of PWI Central to East Java for the award. He hopes that this award will be a motivation for him to continue to give the best for the progress of the press in East Java as a joint effort to develop the region and the country.
In addition to the chancellor, the ranks of officials or figures who received the same award in different categories, namely; Chairman of the Budget Board of the DPR RI and Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Governor of East Java, Head of the Education Office of East Java Province, Head of the East Java Province of Communication and Information Technology, Chair of the Surabaya City DPRD, Chair of the Gerindra Party faction of the East Java Provincial DPRD, Lamongan Regent and Banyuwangi Regent.
