UNESA delegation team promoting SIDIA Technology at the International Forum
Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—The Surabaya State University (UNESA) delegation successfully presented an article entitled "Digitalization of Religious Subject Learning to Promote Interreligious Studies for University Students" at the 2024 Hatyai Songkhla International Conference which took place on 19 October 2024. This conference was organized by Rajamanggala University of Technology Krungthep, Thailand, and attended by academics and researchers from various countries.
The UNESA delegation team involved in this presentation consisted of Dwi Anggorowati Rahayu, Afifan Yulfadinata, Alim Sumarno, Anung Priambodo, Ainur Rifqi, and Anik Wahyuningsih from the Directorate Transformation of Education and Learning technology. This conference carries the theme "Interreligious Dialogue for Reconciliation and Resilience: Southeast Asia Focus," aiming to discuss the role of interfaith dialogue in promoting peace and social resilience amidst diversity.
Alim Sumarno emphasized that the results of this research prioritize technology learning, especially UNESA Digital Sinau (SIDIA), as well as the use of social media in the context of religion courses at UNESA. This research involves qualitative methods through interviews with students and lecturers, as well as quantitative methods from lecturer evaluation surveys, which evaluate lecturers' activities and preparation in SIDIA-based learning and social media.

In his presentation , Dwi Anggorowati Rahayu highlighted the importance of digitalization in teaching religious subjects to increase interreligious understanding and tolerance among students. By utilizing digital technology, students can access various rich and varied learning resources, supporting intercultural and interreligious dialogue.
Ainur Rifqi added that this presentation is very relevant to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 4, which emphasizes the importance of quality education that is inclusive and fair. Digitizing religious learning not only increases educational accessibility, but also enriches the learning experience with a more interactive and collaborative approach.
“Through digitalization, we can broaden students' insight into various religious perspectives and build tolerance in an increasingly pluralistic society . Sharing Good Practices: By showing the results of implementing SIDIA and social media on campus, the UNESA team aims to provide inspiration to other institutions to adopt or develop similar systems, so that they can advance technology-based education in various countries, said Afifan Yulfadinata.

This presentation received appreciation from the participants in parallel sessions, because it involves innovative learning technology developed by UNESA. It is hoped that this technology can be implemented by universities in various countries to create a more inclusive society and be able to face social challenges, especially in the educational context.
Anung Priambodo added that this conference is expected to encourage more international collaboration in in the field of education and increasing awareness of the importance of education that respects diversity and inclusiveness.[]
