Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA�Students of the Bachelor of Laws Study Program, Faculty of Social and Legal Sciences (FISH), Surabaya State University (UNESA), Mustika Eka Kusuma W achieved proud achievements in the 2023 Youth Friendship Festival (YFF) Last October 2023.
He took home a gold medal in the Solo Vocal Adults category in a competition that included participants from Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines, Turkey and the United States. YFF is a competition organized by Purwa Caraka Music Studio in collaboration with Transinex Singapore.
"It feels very happy and unexpected. This competition is so tight with participants from various countries, each with extraordinary performance," said Mustika.

In preparation for international level competitions, Mustika revealed that vocal training was her main focus. She prepared with a rendition of Kristin Chenoweth's "The Girl In 14G." Preparation for approximately six months. He maintains the condition of his body and voice by eating and drinking regularly.
"Choosing this song is not just because it is a favorite, but because it contains three genres at once: broadway, jazz, and classical. I want to show the diversity of my vocal abilities," explained Mustika.
Mustika highlights his ability to master switching genres with the right expression, mood and note intervals. This is a characteristic that distinguishes his appearance.

He faced challenges, especially in the difficulty level of the songs he performed. However, support from those closest to him, such as parents, coaches and friends, also motivates him every practice session.
One of the memorable moments for Mustika was being able to get to know and make friends with musicians from other countries. other people who have the same interest in music.
"This achievement really motivates me to continue to hone my vocal skills. I hope to give the best performance in future competitions, both at national and international levels," concluded Mustika.
Currently, Mustika is preparing to take part in several subsequent competitions in the hope of continuing to make new achievements in her vocal arts career. "I ask for prayers and support from all parties, hopefully I can continue to get achievement after achievement to make my parents, region and alma mater proud," he said. []
