Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) They have their own way of welcoming the holy month of Ramadan. The campus of the champions held a prayer together and provided compensation to a thousand orphans, Thursday (31/3/2022) in the Rector's Lobby, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya.
This activity is intended to strengthen spirituality and a means to ask for help and protection from God Almighty and to spread the spirit of sharing to welcome the holy month of Ramadan.
"So that the academic community can carry out religious orders well and remain productive and creative for UNESA which is even more productive, even more accomplished," said Suprapto, S.Pd., M.T., Deputy Chancellor for General Affairs and Finance.
He added, Ramadan must be interpreted as a room for improvement and improvement of self-quality both from the spiritual, social and performance aspects. Spiritually, of course what is expected is an increase in the quality of closeness to God Almighty which has a direct impact on the quality of relationships with fellow human beings in terms of work.

“Hopefully this will be a momentum to keep pushing ourselves and the institution to a higher level. UNESA must be better than yesterday, have more achievements and be more competitive and excel towards a world class university," he hoped.
Meanwhile, Hj. Endah Purnomowati Nurhasan M.Pd as Chair of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) UNESA stated that the pandemic is not an obstacle to keep spreading smiles and sharing love with others, especially to orphans and needy children. For him, orphans and poor people are part of the social responsibility of all parties.
We must work together to ensure that children can still smile happily and can continue to grow and develop well. UNESA, he continued, continues to give the best for them. Both in the form of social assistance such as parcels, basic necessities or in the form of educational assistance. "We distribute it equally to every orphanage, duafa foundation, Islamic boarding school and various social institutions," he explained.
The activity was attended by Drs. Syailendra Hidayat, the caretaker of the Al-Hasan Orphanage Islamic Boarding School who reads prayers and dhikr which the congregation closely follows. In his prayer he slipped his request for blessings, convenience and success to accompany UNESA so that it would be more blessed and bring more benefits to the surrounding environment, society, nation and state.
