Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The State University of Surabaya (UNESA) sacrificed 1 cow and 1 goat on Eid al-Adha 1443/2022. The sacrificial animals were handed over to the sacrificial committee consisting of UKKI members, alumni, takmir of the Baitul Makmur 2 Unesa mosque and accompanied by a builder. Slaughter takes place on campus on Monday, July 11, 2022.
"This sacrificial animal from the rectorate in the form of 1 cow, and from SMCC Unesa in the form of 1 goat," said Atmaja Bintang Bhaskara, chief executive. After the slaughter and slaughter, the sacrificial meat is then distributed to the cleaning and security officers as well as the residents around the campus. For Bintang, there was a different atmosphere when he was on the sacrificial committee. In addition to an increase in spirituality, there is also a spirit of sharing happiness with others. “Maybe this is what is called a blessing or benefit from every religious commandment. By making sacrifices, our brothers and sisters can be happy. For those of us who feel happy, so will the recipients. I can't explain it," he said.
He hopes that the spirit of sacrifice and sharing with others must continue to be inflamed. The spirit of sacrifice-sharing can continue and not be extinguished a few days after Eid. “Sacrifice does seem to share animal flesh. However, the essence is to share happiness and blessings with others, which ends in a sense of mutual concern, brotherhood and unity," he said.
"Hopefully in the next one, there will be more sacrificial animals at UNESA so that they can reach more residents and surrounding communities. In addition, most importantly, young people must also have the spirit of sacrifice. If you can't do it alone, you can work with friends. That's what we think about in the future," he said. [UNESA PR]
