Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The UNESA Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force (PPKS Task Force) intensifies the socialization of the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence in the campus environment. After targeting lecturers and staff, it is now being directed to students in stages. On Friday, February 11, 2022, an online socialization was held at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH).
FISH Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Indah Prabawati, S.Sos, M.Sc., in her speech said that this socialization was very important, apart from the mandate of Permendikbudristek Number 30 of 2021 as well as shared awareness in creating a comfortable campus atmosphere for places growth and development of the nation's generation.
"Hopefully with the PPKS Task Force at UNESA, students will no longer be afraid to voice what they are experiencing, so they can follow up according to the procedure," he hoped.
Iman Pasu Marganda Hadiarto Purba, S.H., M.H., from the Advocacy and Legal Division of the PPKS Task Force, explained that the activity was intended to make students understand about acts of sexual violence, its limitations, its types and how to respond to it.
"If on campus or off campus, friends experience or receive treatment that leads to sexual violence, please don't let it go, immediately complain, we have prepared services," said the FISH Ormawa coach.
PPKS Task Force Chief, Dr. Mutimmatul Faidah, M.Ag said that cases of sexual violence can happen anywhere and involve anyone. It can be on campus, off campus, in a boarding house or rented and even happens virtually. For example on campus, it can happen between students, between lecturers, between staff and between the three.
“Currently we are struggling together to deal with reports or complaints, as well as others related to sexual violence. Along with the handling, we must also fight together to take preventive measures to create a campus that is zero sexual violence," he said.
He invites students and all parties to really be aware of the potential and various types of actions that fall into the category of sexual violence. In addition, he also understands the complaint path that is safe and in accordance with regulations. "If something goes wrong, just go straight to the PPKS task force's social media or through the complaint service," he explained.
The event, which was held with BEM FISH, was attended by Indah Prabawati, S.Sos, M.Si, Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Iman Pasu Marganda Hadiarto Purba, S.H., M.H.
