Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The closing of The 2nd Unesa's International Forum of University Rectors (UNIFUR) 2021 on November 25, 2021 consisted of a series of activities in the form of a Plenary Session and Closing Ceremony which was attended by 47 institutions from 18 countries. The opening ceremony was marked by the signing of a Hybrid MoU between UNESA and a number of national and international partners.
These partners include SEAMEO SEAQIM, SEAMEO SEAQIS, Baltic International Academy Latvia, PT PAL, GNIK, PT Pindad, SEAMEO SEAMOLEC, INTI International University, University of Perpetual Health System, Pointstar Indonesia, General Foundation for International Medical Education and Treatment Exchange.
The lively implementation of UNIFUR 2021 was marked by the celebration of the 57th UNESA birthday which was also enlivened with congratulations from GNIK, PT. Pindad, PT. PAL. Also, by giving symbolic awards for UNESA partners to SEAMEOSEN, Tarlac Agricultural University, Walailak University Thailand, and education attaches from the Philippines.
In the UNESA Plenary Session presenting a number of speakers, namely, the Director General of Higher Education Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng; Sitta Rosdaniah, PhD, KBUMN; Prof. Caroline Chan, University of New Castle; Prof. Dr. Yong Zulina Zubairi, University of Malaya; and Dr. Wahyudi, SEAMEO Secretariat as the last speaker on the third day of UNIFUR 2021.
In relation to the emancipation of learning at the Merdeka Campus, Prof. Nizam said Indonesia has more than 4500 institutions, 8 million students, more than 300 lecturers, and 29 thousand study programs throughout Indonesia. In addition, having a way to achieve 17 Sustainable Goals to ensure that this planet is a better planet for children and grandchildren and at the same time the Industrial Revolution 4.0 creates a big challenge for institutions in Indonesia to prepare graduates who have the skills.
The speaker from the representative of BUMN, Sitta Rosdaniah, PhD. gave an explanation of the Pentahelix Scheme, which is a form of collaboration between elements of the Government, BUMN, Academic, Community and Media which aims to strengthen and develop the potential of technology in various sectors, one of which is the academic sector. In accordance with the main goal of holding the 2021 UNIFUR International Forum which was conveyed by the UNESA Chancellor in his speech, namely increasing collaboration to realize the development of science and education as a whole.
The series of events continued and closed with a Focus Group Discussion with the speakers. Among them, H.E. Mr. Irawan Bogananta Mr. Yaya Sutarya H.E. Mr. Vishnu Edi Pratignyo, MA. H.E.
