
Graphic Design S-4 Study Program provides reinforcement at the opening of the Folkation 3.0 Exhibition.
Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—D-4 Graphic Design Study Program, Faculty Vocational, Surabaya State University (Unesa) held the art exhibition "Folkation 3.0" at the Creative Room 2nd Floor, Royal Plaza, Surabaya, on January 11 2025. This exhibition of work by students from the class of 2023 is related to the mission of re-branding museums in the Surabaya area.< /p>
Folkation was held by the D-4 Graphic Design Study Program together with the Student Association of the D-4 Graphic Design Study Program. This annual exhibition is the face and identity of the implementation of the creative and innovative work of the vocational academic community.
This year, Folkation carries the theme “Historical Heritage.” Rivaldi Yudha Fachrizal, chief organizer said , that this theme departs from the spirit of preserving social and cultural heritage by collaborating with creative industries. So that it can be a means of appreciating culture, especially in Surabaya.
There are a total of 26 works on display based on 26 groups of booths, three of which are works from class 24 in the form of typography, comgraphs ( computer graphics), and nirmana.
The Coordinator of the D-4 Graphic Design Study Program, Asidigisianti Surya Patria, said that this exhibition is a forum and the face of the D-4 Graphic Design Study Program, which displays the results of projects base learning for 1 semester from class 23.
He hopes that the students from class 24 who participated in contributing works can gain experience from their seniors in making this annual exhibition a success.< /p>
In line with that, Deputy Dean I of the Faculty of Vocational Studies, Reza Rahmadian, expressed his admiration because the Folkation event could collaborate 5 courses.
“The exhibition is a new breakthrough in implementation "project base learning, so that assignments are not just papers, papers or articles, but also appreciation of work in the form of exhibitions that are open to the public," he said.
Rebranding the museum is the aim of The theme is the hope that the D-4 Graphic Design Study Program can build something classic that becomes more interesting through digitalization and more interactive exhibitions.
Gadiz and Mody are 12th grade students from SMKN 1 Surabaya majoring in Visual Communication Design ( DKV) Those who came as visitors felt happy visiting the exhibition. For him, the work on display is very inspiring and could be a reference for those who are preparing an exhibition ahead of graduation.
"We are interested in adopting the concept from the De Javasche Bank Museum's booth to serve as an inspirational reference, said Gadiz. He and his friends hope that Unesa will continue to hold art exhibitions again in the future.[*]
