Unesa. AC ID. SURABAYA—2023 Batch 2 Pre-Service PPG Students from the Arts and Culture Study Program at Surabaya State University (UNESA) held "Digitik" training which was attended by dozens of students at SMPN 1 Surabaya on Tuesday, July 23 2024.
This training aims to to introduce them to modern technology in arts and culture, especially through the use of the Ibis Paint Through Ibis Paint this is an exciting platform to develop their creativity in an increasingly prominent digital era.
"We want to provide more than just technical skills. We want to open their minds to how traditional art can adopt modern technology to stay relevant and worldwide," said Indar Sabri.
Together with Eko Widayani, Principal of SMPN 1 Surabaya, as well as Deputy Head of Curriculum Rachmat Surjadi, arts and culture teacher Farida Yudhiani Putri, and Mrs. Ismiyati, who provided full support and additional motivation for the workshop participants.
In addition, the Principal of SMPN 1 Surabaya, Mrs. Eko Widayani, welcomed this initiative as a step forward in supporting the adaptation of education to modern technology. "We hope that activities like this can continue to be held to provide new insights to our students, as well as enrich their learning experience," added Mrs. Eko.
Workshop participants, as stated by one of the students, felt helped by an interactive approach applied in this activity. "We learn digital design and can maintain the uniqueness of traditional arts such as batik in this digital era," said Queen enthusiastically.
The "DIGITIK" workshop is a place to develop technical skills using modern applications, but also as a concrete step in supporting the digitalization of traditional cultural arts such as batik.
It is hoped that activities like this can continue to be encouraged to enrich students' learning experiences and prepare them to face increasingly fierce global competition.
