Unesa. AC ID. SURABAYA—Children of the Baitussalam Surabaya Orphan Assistance Institute (LPAY) learned to make beads of economic value with a team of UNESA 2023 Pre-Service PPG students.
This training activity for making economically valuable beads was initiated by a team of Marketing study program students consisting of from Isna, Dani, Lisa, Firdo, Memey, and Rofiq.
For them, this activity is important to develop the potential and creativity of the children at LPAY. "Creativity must be trained and accustomed to from an early age, that is our goal with this activity," said Lisa or Kholisatul Mar'ah as team leader.
Apart from that, this art, which is an East Javanese tradition, can help stimulate development. children's fine motor nerves. Inserting thread or rope into the holes of objects to create a unified pattern can stimulate motor nerves, train children's patience and concentration.
"Apart from these benefits, the art of stringing beads also has economic benefits where the beads "The products produced can be products such as necklaces, bracelets and prayer beads," explained Lisa.
This activity was enthusiastically welcomed by the children at LPAY Baitussalam Surabaya, including the administrators. Chairman of LPAY Baitussalam Surabaya, Kusmining expressed his gratitude for this activity.
According to him, activities like this are very important to be held and even routine. Besides being able to learn artistic skills, they also seem to enjoy doing it.
