Unesa. ac.id, SURABAYA—The lively celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia echoed at the Rectorate of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, Surabaya on Friday, August 16 2024.
Campus' Home of the Champions held a series of competitions in August involving the entire UNESA family, students, lecturers, education staff and even leaders took part.
There were various series of competitions held, a relay of balloons and plastic cups , glove ball volleyball, plastic bottle tennis ball relay, and glass blowing relay. It all started with aerobic exercise with the UNESA community.
Vice Chancellor IV for Planning, Development, Cooperation and Information and Communication Technology, Martadi, said that this competition activity was a form of enthusiasm for celebrating the Republic of Indonesia's independence day. entering its 79th year.
The aim of this activity is to build togetherness among the entire academic community. "It is nothing but to build togetherness, because we will not be able to do many things if there is no togetherness," he said.
The leadership and the entire UNESA community exercised together before taking part in a series of competitions in August at the Rectorate Field.
With tone humorously, the Graphic Design Lecturer added, "Freedom doesn't have to think about work first, independence doesn't have to be the target of IKU first, basically today we are free, okay?"
The entire competition is designed so that all participants can take part regardless of age. or physical abilities, so that the competitive atmosphere feels very inclusive and fun.
One of the competitions that attracts the most attention is Sarung Volleyball. This competition requires each team, consisting of four people, to catch and throw a tennis ball using a glove. Teamwork and coordination are the keys to victory in this competition.
On the other side of the field, the Plastic Cup Relay competition was no less lively. In this competition, participants have to blow up a balloon until it reaches the appropriate size, then stick the balloon in a glass. Apart from that, there is also a Glass Blowing Relay, where participants have to blow a glass hanging from a thread until it reaches the end.
From the various work units involved, the Directorate of Student Affairs succeeded in dominating the wins in various competitions, showing solidarity and There is high enthusiasm among them.
The excitement of this event is even more complete with the unique dress code of each work unit, which makes the atmosphere even more lively and makes identification between teams easier.
This event is not only an opportunity to celebrate Independence Day, but it is also a means to strengthen togetherness between all campus elements. It is hoped that this togetherness can continue to be established in various other activities at UNESA.[*]
