Unesa.ac.id., Surabaya - Surabaya State University (Unesa) through the Business Management Agency (BPU), and Unesa Science Center (USC) in collaboration with Bank Jatim held a durian festival in < a href = "https://unesa.ac.id/"> GOR Basketball International Unesa Campus 2 Tongue Wetan, Surabaya, Friday, February 21, 2025.
The festival titled 'Durenan Rek' lasted for three days, until Sunday, February 23, 2025. Rector of UNESA , Nurhasan or Cak Hasan was present to open activities that were attended by all levels of leaders, deans, directorates, and heads of related work units, as well as students and lecturers.
Cak Hasan said, this activity besides being able to Introducing the natural wealth and culinary of the archipelago, can also help the surrounding MSMEs. As an appreciation, Cak Hasan eliminated durian on the first day for the community, including students.
In his remarks, Deputy Rector IV in the field of planning, development, cooperation, and information and communication technology, Dwi Cahyo Kartiko said, this festival was not only about enjoying durian, also as a place for creativity and togetherness.
"Durian is not just a fruit, but a symbol of luxury and natural wealth. This festival is a paradise for durian lovers and also a creativity space for students and the community, "he said.
Vice President of Bank Jatim Institutional Relations, Agus Sastriono, in his remarks revealed his pride to collaborate with UNESA presenting the festival.
"We are committed to continuing to support various events at Unesa. As an alumni of IKIP Surabaya or Unesa, I feel proud to be back Contributing here, "he said.
Chair of the Committee, Loggar Bhilawa said, this festival involved 21 tenants, each of which presents various superior durian variants from various regions in Indonesia. There are about 15 other tenants that present the typical non-durian culinary product of the archipelago Unesa Durian Festival can be an annual agenda, "he said.
Besides enjoying durian, visitors for three days can also participate in various activities, such as durian eating competitions, acoustic competitions, and drawing competitions.
In addition, there is also a Mother and Child Coloring Competition with the theme "Getting to Know the Culture of Indonesian Dance Through Children's Creativity." Also, there is also a free medical check-up service from the Unesa Clinic. [*]
