Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-Scientific journals are scientific publications that are published regularly as well as scientific communication media with a focus on certain fields of science. The function of the research journal itself is to inspire research implementation, determine research position, and become a reference or citation.
Publication is very important for students, lecturers and institutions. Therefore, many pursue scientific publications for both national and international journals. For those who want to or are currently doing research with the aim of publishing a Scopus indexed journal, it is better to pay attention to some tips from experts that are revealed in the Scientific Publication Webinar: Tips for Success in Transmitting Scopus Indexed Journals held by the LPDP UNESA Village on Saturday (21/08/2021).
Prof. Dr. Warsono, M.S, Professor of UNESA said that what must be done is: first, find and determine the heart of the research. The heart of research, he continued, is contained in the formulation of the problem or Research Question (RQ). How to determine that? It can be done through literature review.
What is found in the literature is then drawn to facts. Is there a gap between fact and theory in the literature? Well, from there the 'heart of research' can be found. "Whether or not a research is appropriate can also be seen from there," he explained. Second, pay attention to the logical sequence in the research. Starting from the background to the conclusion must be coherent and directed.
Third, determine research methods so that they can obtain and analyze data that can be accounted for rationally and can be verified. "The research method is not just a method, but really a reliable method for our research purposes," he said.
Fourth, RQ to determine the research design. "RQ in determining the research design must be clear between the problem formulation and data analysis techniques," he added. Fifth, tips from Nadi Suprapto, Ph.D., CIQaR, CIQnR, Head of the Research Department for Advanced Indonesian Researchers, namely by making interesting scientific titles so editors are curious.
Sixth, using multiple statistics for quantitative research. The data may be minimal, as long as the analysis technique is up to date. "If you use quantitative, then the data from the questionnaire should not be analyzed descriptively, but now is the era of EFA, CFA, SEM, and others," he said. Seventh, presenting representations and fully understanding the scope of the journal. Eighth, build good communication to convince the editor. Those are some tips, keep the spirit and good luck.
