Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya-UPT Humas Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) held a special branding learning series for UNESA student organizations such as BEM, HMJ, UKM, Ormada, and Communities. The branding learning series, volume one, will be held for two days, from 04-05 August 2021.
On that occasion, present as resource persons were Dewi Kurniawati as the Public Relations Officer of the East Java Provincial Government, and Faiz Nashrillah as the Editor of the East Java IDN Times. Vinda Maya Setianingrum, S.Sos., M.A., Lecturer of Communication Studies and Head of UPT Humas Unesa were also present on the occasion.
Vinda Maya said that there are seven steps in building personal branding in the digital era, including displaying a self-image according to a portfolio, sharing portfolios with others, creating a personal website, maximizing social media, creating content strategies, building networking, and don't be shy to collaborate. "With these seven steps, it is hoped that a positive, qualified, and characterized self-image of the Indonesian millennial generation will be built," he said.
He advised the participants that in building personal branding, it is important to stay true to yourself. Trying to be the best version of yourself and not just being the person you are. "Be unique, be bold, and be yourself," he said.
Meanwhile, Shelly Andari said that in making press releases, press release tools, a news writer must be able to process language as well as possible by paying attention to news value. In addition, building a relationship with the media is equally important, so that public relations also needs to place the media as partners who help each other and continue to prioritize ethics.
"In writing press releases we must pay attention to writing skills, journalistic understanding or language that is easily understood by readers," he said. Meanwhile, Faiz, Nasrillah, gave material on mass media policies. Da said that the mass media is an important actor in promoting public information disclosure.
