Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–The good news came from the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA). The education program to prepare professional educators has an A accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). It is stated in the decision of BAN-PT No. 13445/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/PP/V/2022 dated 17 May 2022.
Head of LP3 UNESA, Dr. Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri, M.Pd., expressed his gratitude for this achievement. "I am grateful that finally PPG for the first time was able to get an A predicate," he said happily. The A predicate which is owned by PPG UNESA is a reflection of internal quality which must be strived for with all ranks so far. Improving quality is not easy, it takes a long process and a shared commitment to prepare truly professional teachers.
In addition, applying for accreditation is not easy, there are many stages that must be passed and prepared, such as quality assurance, PPG implementation and so on. "After being reviewed by a reviewer from BAN PT, finally we can get the A predicate," added the UNESA Curriculum expert.
There are many indicators that UNESA fulfills so that it can get an A predicate. However, one of the most influential is the quality of PPG graduates. The man who is usually called Mr. B said that PPG's commitment so far is how the graduates can be truly qualified and the teachers produced are professional. “We (PPG, ed) have succeeded in producing quality graduates who, on average, are ranked third nationally. It cannot be denied that this shows that the learning system here is quite good,” he said.
This accreditation must certainly be a motivation for all levels to continue to show the quality of the institution through the learning process and the graduates it produces. UNESA, he continued, is committed to producing teachers who have not only personality, pedagogic, social and professional competencies. However, it also equips these teachers with the competencies needed in the technology-laden 21st century.
“Teachers are not only prepared to face today's educational challenges, but they must also be prepared to face the challenges ahead. Having a vision and mission for the future and being able to produce innovations in his profession, it can be in the form of methods, strategies and learning media, "said the lecturer who also teaches at the UNESA Postgraduate. The head of PPG hopes that in the future he can improve learning outcomes, writings and other innovations. "This is the result of all of us working together. Hopefully this will be a shared motivation so that we can continue to move to be even better. [UNESA PR]
