Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-Not many students like Dinda Ayuni Setiawan regularly challenge themselves and develop themselves in various competitions. The student of Indonesian Language and Literature, State University of Surabaya (UNESA) last year participated in 114 competitions. From January to May this year, he has participated in 35 competitions.
The competitions that were followed by women from Surabaya were of various kinds. Starting from writing poetry, posters, rhymes to photogenic competitions. No wonder he collected 12 winners in 2021 and 8 times this year's competition winners. Some of Dinda's works are included in the category of favorite writers, some are selected as writers, inspirational manuscripts and some are included in the ontology bookkeeping with ISBN.
Prestasi Cipta Puisi
Dinda said that the poetry competition had won several times in different competitions. Dinda recently won 1st place in the Poetry Writing Competition in the general category at the national level, which was held by the HappyKids Competition on April 13, 2022, which was attended by around 200 participants. Then the 1st winner of the 6th National Event Creative Competition Poetry Competition which was held by the Online Creative Competition on April 2, 2022, which was also attended by around 200 participants. Previously, in March 2022, the 2nd winner of the National Poetry Writing Competition held by the Indonesian Literature Publisher Window and competed with 1500 participants.
Based on her confession, Dinda has her own way of finding inspiration to write poetry which includes reading a lot of topics or themes of competitions that will be followed. “For example, I will take part in a poetry competition with the theme 'love', so I will read Fiersa Besari's 'Timeline'. That way I can get a lot of ideas and diction that will be used and make a stunning work," he said.
Photogenic Achievements
It didn't stop there, Dinda also won 1st place in the National Photogenic Competition held by the Creative Online Competition on April 2, 2022. She competed with 50 participants in the competition. Then, he also won 1st place in the National Level Photogenic Contest held by the Art Literature House on April 10, 2022. He managed to beat around 50 other participants.
Dinda admits that her hobby is posing in front of the camera. His hobby was then taken seriously and entered into a competition. In fact, thanks to his hobby-based work, he received several offers to become a photo model in a clothing catalog. "This photogenic competition cannot be separated from the services of my friends who are the photographers. Friends who teach and help me pose," he explained.
Short Stories, Posters and Poems
In addition to the competition above, Dinda eliminated around 100 other participants and came out as the 1st winner of the Short Story Competition for the National General Category which was held by the HappyKids Competition on April 13, 2022. Short stories were the writing event that Dinda had been waiting for. Similar to poetry, Dinda often reads short stories to find ideas that she will inscribe in her work.
In the same competition, Dinda won 2nd place in the Poster Competition for the National General Category. The idea for the poster started with Dinda's hobby of taking pictures, eventually getting used to editing videos, photos, and posters to upload on her Instagram. Previously, Dinda was also a volunteer and served as chief ambassador in an educational platform.
“There I was required to be good at editing videos and posters for quizzes with the aim of increasing Instagram insight from that platform. It started with trying out a poster competition with the theme Empowering Without Malaria. In addition to the design, the poster must be attractive so that it is eye-catching, it must also contain important information based on the theme of the competition, which will be easily understood by readers when it is read," he explained.
Dinda was also good at rhyming. He won 1st place in the 6th National Event Creative Competition Poetry Competition which was held by the Online Creative Competition on April 2, 2022, which was attended by 150 participants. For rhyme ideas, Dinda has always liked to hear people rhyming, looks fun and can always lighten the mood. Therefore, when making a rhyme, Dinda first determines the contents and then the sampiran and adjusts it to the theme of the competition.
All the competitions that Dinda participated in could not be separated from the support of her parents. "I am grateful, my parents have always fully supported me in participating in competitions, and motivated me to be able to exceed the limit by holding the key, namely consistency, high effort and forgetting to be accompanied by prayer," he said.
Dinda admitted not satisfied. In the future, he wants to be able to win poetry competitions at the ASEAN to international level and publish a solo poetry anthology book. He also wants to try out essay competitions and scientific writings. Because of that he continues to learn, read a lot and practice and share with friends who are more experienced. "Hopefully I can master in the fields of essays and scientific writings and debates," he hoped. The field of debate also caught his attention. (UNESA PR)
