Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—The best boys and girls from each faculty showed off their abilities in the Grand Final of the Boys and Girls Selection of Surabaya State University (UNESA) at the Sawunggaling Performance Hall, UNESA Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, Surabaya on Friday, November 8 2024.
In total there were 11 pairs or 22 men and women who entered the deciding round. They had previously passed a series of selections at faculty to university level.
The grand final was attended by the jury, Danang Ariyanto, FMIPA mathematics lecturer who was once President of the Kakang Mbakyu Tourism Ambassador for Malang City; Fiki Andriansyah, Raka East Java 2024; and Eka Adrian, East Java Language Ambassador 2024.
Vice Chancellor for Planning, Development, Cooperation and Information and Communication Technology, Martadi said that the finalists were selected from 56 thousand UNESA students.
Sons and daughters are a bridge, not a destination. Therefore, he invited the finalists to take advantage of this opportunity to improve their quality.
UNESA Deputy Chancellor IV gave reinforcement and an important message at the 2024 UNESA Men's and Women's Grand Final.
"Take advantage of this opportunity to hone yourself, develop soft skills, build networks and connections, so that this can be an added value when you graduate and become a positive portfolio that supports your career," he said.
The education expert emphasized that this competition is not about winning and losing, but an opportunity to discover your identity and be yourself, because that is true victory.
Boys and girls are at the forefront and are the face of the institution at every important opportunity or event at UNESA. Therefore, as sons and daughters, you must transform your mindset and behavior to become yourself and an example for others.
Vice Chancellor IV left a message for participants to always maintain the good name and dignity of UNESA. "Because on your shoulders and within you, the good name and branding of UNESA is attached. I am sure, with the profile and track record of the participants, UNESA can contribute to the development of the nation and state," he said.
Vinda Maya Setianingrum, supervisor of the UNESA Boys and Girls Association, said that the event was not just about competition, but was a forum to show commitment and contribution as a symbol of students' potential.
UNESA Sons and Daughters are ambassadors and vanguards on various important UNESA occasions and events on both a national and international scale.
In the midst of increasingly dynamic life complex requires students not only to have academic abilities, but also experience, achievement and innovation as added value to open up future career opportunities.
"Happy competition, happy work, happy contribution to UNESA, and happy building the nation and state," said the communication science lecturer and Director of Public Relations and Public Information at UNESA.
The grand final produce champions. The 2024 UNESA Boys and Girls title was awarded to M. Daky Mameru Alam and Novita Suzimri Bili from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol).
Runner-up 1 was Aldaffa Syammaera Hadi, a male delegate from the Faculty of Law (FH) and Amelia Dian Pitaloka from the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS).
Meanwhile, the second runner-up was the male delegate from the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK), Bagus Fadlillah Anjer and the female delegate from the Faculty of Engineering (FT) Lubnaya Aprillaili Tsabita.[*]
