Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Surabaya State University (UNESA) received a visit from a delegation from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Taiwan, namely Prof. Chih-Chia Cheng, on Wednesday, December 19 2024.
This visit began with the holding of an "Academic Lecture" activity in the Physics Study Program which was attended by 80 undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as several lecturers from FMIPA.
On this occasion, Chih-Chia Cheng shared about the opportunity to get a scholarship at NTUST, Taiwan as well as discussing research that is being developed at the Department of Graduate Institute of Applied Science and Technology , NTUST.
This activity was well received by the participating students. Furthermore, the NTUST expert also attended a focus group discussion or FGD activity with the ranks of FMIPA deans led by Rooselyna Ekawati, professor and deputy dean of FMIPA field I.

Prof. Chih-Chia Cheng shared about the lecture system, research and innovation developed at his campus, NTUST, with FMIPA students and lecturers.
During this visit, the NTUST delegation expressed his interest in establishing collaboration in the fields of research collaboration and summer exchange, as well as increasing opportunities for students from both universities to be involved in joint research projects.
"With this collaboration, we hope to expand the scope of research and also provide opportunities for students who want to develop their potential in an international environment, especially in the academic and research fields," said Rooselyna Ekawati.
Both parties expressed their commitment to continue this cooperation by developing concrete steps in the near future. This visit is a good momentum for the development of international relations and better academic achievements in the future for FMIPA and UNESA.[*]
