Unesa.ac.id. , SURABAYA�Surabaya State University (Unesa) has once again produced doctoral graduates. One of them is Desak Made Anggraeni who has just completed the closed examination of the doctoral program (S-3) in Science Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Unesa on Friday, January 17 2025.
In the ongoing examination At FMIPA, Unesa Campus 1 Ketintang, Desak Made Anggraeni under the guidance of Budi Jatmiko (Prof) and Binar Kurnia Prahani was tested by internal and external examiners.
Internal examiners consist of Sifak Indana, Suyatno (Prof), Nadi Suprapto (Prof), and Eko Hariyono (Prof). Meanwhile, the external examiner was Rai Sujanem (Prof) from the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) Bali.
In front of the examiners, she was able to defend her dissertation entitled "Development of a Mind Mapping Science Blended (MMSB) Learning Model based on Moodle to Improve the Critical Thinking Skills of Undergraduate Students."
Mother of three was declared to have passed within 2.5 years. What's more special is that he successfully published a scientific article in the Scopus Q1 journal, Thinking Skills and Creativity. This publication is an important milestone for his research and scholarship.
Of course, the achievements of his studies and research were not achieved overnight, but through determination, perseverance and hard work. The mother of three children is required to divide her time between studying, teaching and family matters.
He teaches as an active lecturer at Weetebula Catholic University, Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) while fulfilling the academic demands of his doctorate. His time became increasingly tight when he entered the research stage, he had to go back and forth between NTT, NTB and East Java for large-scale development research trials.
�Time is the biggest challenge for me. "Usually, I write articles in the early hours of the morning, between 2 and 5 in the morning, because during the day I have to teach and take care of my family," he said.

Apart from that, his status as a student The study permit required this woman born in Maumere to go back and forth between Sumba and Surabaya to attend lectures and exams.
Nevertheless, she managed to overcome these various challenges. His motivation for studying, apart from family, is also due to the encouragement of his supervisor, who regularly motivates and provides guidance.
He explained that his article which was published in Q1 was entitled "Systematic Review of Problem Based Learning Research in Fostering Critical Thinking Skills".
�At first I only hoped to enter the Q4 journal, but encouragement from the promoter and co-promoter made me dare to try to enter the Q1 Elsevier journal. "I am very grateful that his article was accepted," he said proudly.
The research he developed focused on developing a Moodle-based mind mapping science blended or MMSB learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills. He plans to apply this learning model to the teacher community in his home region, NTT.
For him, the study journey is not only about a degree, but also a form of dedication to the world of education. �I love science and want to continue learning. "Family support, especially my husband and children, is the main strength for me," he said.
He also expressed the power of his parents' prayers in bringing him to the point of success. �My father, I Dewa Made Giri, and my mother, Geterudis Yansen, are the greatest sources of strength in my life. "Their role is not only limited to supporting me morally, but also always praying for me at every step of my academic journey," he concluded.[*]
