Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–The Office of International Affairs (KUI) UNESA again held an interview selection for applicants for the 2022 International Student Scholarship (ISS) on Monday (18/07/2022). The event, which was held online, was attended by the deputy dean of the academic field within UNESA, the head of the department and the lecturer concerned.
This interview selection was attended by around 34 prospective foreign students for undergraduate, master and doctoral programs from several countries such as Russia, Spain, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Timor Leste, Sri Lanka, Thailand and several other Asian countries.
Head of KUI Asrori, S.S., M.Pd., said that ISS is a scholarship program given to international students to study at UNESA. Through this scholarship, UNESA provides free tuition, dormitory and Indonesian language programs for its awardees.
“This scholarship is available in several schemes based on the duration. There is a one-year scheme for the Indonesian Language Program for Foreign Speakers (BIPA), five years for undergraduate programs, three years for masters and four years for doctorates.

During the interview process, prospective students are directed to the breakout room one by one. The interview process was carried out in two sessions. The first session with the head of the department. At this stage, participants were asked about the motivation for further study and learning objectives.
Then the second session with the KUI team asked questions about administration. This interview stage is the final selection stage which aims to strictly recruit prospective international students who are eligible and meet the qualifications for the ISS 2022 scholarship.
“Every year foreign students who are interested in studying at UNESA are increasing through the various available programs. Strict selection is certainly done. Only those who meet the qualifications are entitled to study scholarships here (UNESA, ed),” he said. [UNESA PR]
